Runaway leaders PSG travel to Stade de I’Aube on Saturday to take on Troyes for Round 28 of Ligue 1. The kick-off is scheduled for 04:00 pm GMT on 3 March.
PSG lost the league title to AS Monaco last year, but they haven’t left any stones unturned this term around. They are the league leaders of Ligue 1 with 71 points from 27 matches, 14 ahead of defending champions Monaco, who are second and are in a tight competition with Marseille for a Champions League spot.
On the other hand, Troyes are in a bit of trouble. They are eighteenth in the league standings with 28 points and are tied in points with Toulouse and Angers who are placed 16th and 17th respectively. It will be a big ask from them to get anything from this fixture, but a draw would be considered a victory for a side which have won just eight matches all season.
The Paris-based side had back-to-back fixtures with Marseille last week, in Ligue 1 and Coupe de France; both of which they passed with flying colors, scoring three and conceding none. Their attack has been splendid throughout the season, scoring more than five goals in 17 occasions this campaign.
The good news for the freshly promoted side is that the Parisians played Marseille less than 48 hours before and most of the players will be tired out.
Unai Emery will have to make some wise decisions, as his side will face Real Madrid four days after this clash, which is a most win situation for them if they are to stay in the Champions League. With their talisman Neymar out injured for three months, it only adds up to the Spanish manager’s worries.
Players To Watch
After sitting out of the squad for almost a month due to a toe injury, the French midfielder is set to start this match from the left. With three goals and an assist to his name this season, the veteran has got the potential and experience of playing against strong opponents.
Angel Di Maria
The Argentine winger scored twice on Thursday’s 3-0 cup win over Marseille. With Neymar injured and Mbappe remaining a doubt, Emery will surely give him more minutes and we predict the 30-year-old will deliver another stellar performance when these sides meet on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the reverse fixture of this league tie ended with a comfortable 2-0 win for the Parisians, thanks to goals from Neymar and Cavani.
PSG’s last trip to Troyes ended with a 9-0 victory for the away side, and the Troyes faithful will have that result in the back of their mind when Emery’s men travel to their hometown on Saturday.
The Parisians have defeated Garcia’s men in all of the last five occasions, scoring a total of twenty goals against Troyes’ one.
Jean-Louis Garcia will be without left-back Charles Traore, who got sent-off at the last minute during the 2-0 defeat to Rennes previous weekend. Benjamin Nivet and Stephane Darbion are set to start this game, having recovered from injuries.

Neymar’s injury caused a massive blow on Emery’s hope of advancing further in the Champions League this season. Mbappe limped off during the match with Marseille and will most likely stay out of this fixture.
Areola and Marquinhos are also a doubt for this match, as Emery will look to give some rest to his starters before the big match on Tuesday.

Troyes vs PSG Prediction
The Parisians have a huge lead at the top of the league table. Given their current run of form, we can say for sure that they will win the league title this year.
Despite all those injuries, PSG are the clear favorites to win this match, and if we chose to overlook the weariness factor for a moment, a win in this game could provide a little more confidence to Emery’s men before the must-win match against Los Blancos on Tuesday.
For Garcia’s men, even a draw can make much difference in their fight against relegation.
Our Prediction: A 3-1 away win for PSG
