Las Palmas will host Villarreal for their match-day 28 Liga Santander fixture at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. Both the teams come into this game on the back of defeats in their previous league games.
Las Palmas were unable to hold on to their lead when they faced off against Celta De Vigo and eventually went on to lose the match 2-1 on the dying minutes of the match. The relegation-threatened side had a great opportunity to grab a point and left them up the table but missed their chance, conceding a goal at the end of the game.
The loss counts for Las Palmas seventeenth loss of the season and keeps them in the relegation zone. They only have twenty points in the pocket, winning five and drawing five of the twenty-seven games played so far. They just have the worst goal difference in the whole of La Liga with negative 35 which clearly shows how much they are struggling at the back.
On the other hand, Villarreal were in touching distance of the third spot a month or so ago but now find themselves stuck in a heated battle to secure the last European spots.
The Yellow Submarine had a disappointing home game last term as the surprise package of the season Girona returned to Catalonia with all three points.
Their last six games have been diabolical with Villarreal only managing one win, one draw and four losses during the period.
Head to Head
The two clubs have faced each other a total of nineteen times in all competition and Villarreal slightly edge Las Palmas with ten wins compared to Las Palmas’ nine.
Villarreal swept apart La Union Deportiva when the two clubs met earlier this season with a 4-0 scoreline.

Las Palmas vs Villarreal Prediction
Considering the forms of both the clubs, a win seems unlikely for either clubs. Las Palmas are winless in five of their previous matches while Villarreal have had a tough run in the league.
A win will be a breather for both the clubs as the three points will go a long way toward achieving their goals for the season.
Villarreal, generally speaking, are a much better squad going forward and backward and Las Palmas will have to crack it up a notch if they are to stop the Yellow Submarines.
Our Prediction: Las Palmas 1-2 Villarreal
