Huddersfield Town host Premier League giants, Manchester United, this Saturday in the fifth round of the FA Cup 2017/18.
David Wagner’s Huddersfield won 4-1 at home, against Bournemouth, in their last game in the Premier League. The win ended a five-match losing streak in the league for the Terriers. Wagner’s men won 1-4 against Birmingham City earlier this month, in the fourth round replay after drawing 1-1 at home.
Meanwhile, Manchester United lost 1-0 at St. James Park last Sunday, in their previous league game. The defeat against the Magpies meant United have lost two out of the last three games in the Premier League. Mourinho’s men won 0-4 against Yeovil Town last month, in the fourth round of the FA Cup to set up a fifth-round tie against the Terriers.
David Wagner side have the likelihood of eliminating Man Utd’s FA Cup journey on Saturday, So Huddersfield may go with a relatively full starting XI.
Huddersfield Town have not reached the FA Cup quarter-finals since the 1971/72 campaign. The Terriers have lost each of their last five fifth round ties, including a replay against Manchester City in last season’s competition. This season, Wagner’s men have already won against Bolton and Birmingham City, earlier in the competition.
Manchester United have progressed past the fifth round on each of the last eight occasions they have reached this stage. The last two clubs to eliminate them at this stage have gone on to win the trophy, Liverpool in 2005/06 and Arsenal in 2002/03.
In the Premier League, Huddersfield are currently 17th in the league table with 27 points. They have won seven, drawn six and 16 games in the league so far. Meanwhile, the away side on Saturday, Manchester United, are currently second in the Premier League table having earned 56 points so far. They have won 15 league games this season,
Huddersfield have won just one out of their last 15 games in all competitions, against Manchester United.
In the FA Cup, United have won two of their three ties against the Terriers. In the Premier Leauge, these two sides have already played twice this season, and they have both won a game each.
Players To Watch
Steve Mounie has been in good form for the home side. Mounie has scored six goals in the Premier League this season. The 23-year-old has been directly involved in four goals in his last two games.
New-signing, Alexis Sanchez, is one of the best-attacking players in England. The Chilean scored his first goal for the club in the 2-0 win against Huddersfield in the league earlier this month.
Sanchez has a good record in the FA Cup having scored eight goals and providing seven assists in his 15 appearances in the competition.
Elias Kachunga is carrying a medial collateral ligament injury which will keep him out for at least a month more. Laurent Depoitre has missed the last two games in the league with an ankle injury. He is a doubt.
Aaron Mooy has a problem with his knee and is doubtful to play on Saturday. Laurent Depoitre and Tom Smith are both doubtful to face United this weekend.
Alex Pritchard is cup-tied for Huddersfield having featured in the FA Cup with Norwich.

Michael Carrick, Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof, Matteo Darmian, and Luke Shaw are all anticipated to come into the starting lineup against the Terriers.
Marouane Fellaini is out with a knee injury and is expected to be out for six weeks. Daley Blind is out with an ankle injury.
Eric Bailly is expected to be back before the end of this month. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in training.
