Defending champions Juventus travel to Florence on Friday to face Fiorentina for Round 24 of Serie A. The match is scheduled for 07:45 pm GMT and the venue for this match is Artemio Franchi Stadium, the home of Viola.
Fiorentina are having a mediocre season in the league so far. They are eleventh in the standings with 31 points from 23 games.
The side from Florence are coming off a tight victory over Bologna in their last league fixture. Antonio Mirante scored an own goal as Fiorentina took the lead in the 41st minute. It took just three minutes for the home side to level the score from an Erick Pulgar goal. Pulgar stunned the footballing folklore with a direct goal from the corner.
Federico Chiesa restored the lead back to the Viola, with a brilliant goal in the 71st minute. Badelj set up Chiesa with a simple pass inside the 18-yard box, to which the Italian responded quickly and struck past Mirante to ensure the victory for Fiorentina.
On the other hand, Juventus thrashed Sassuolo 7-0, giving a night to forget for the Neroverdi, in their last league match. Alex Sandro opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Khedira scored twice in quick succession to make it 3-0 for the hosts. Miralem Pjanic scored a screamer in the 38th minute, as the 33-times league champion went to the second half with a 4-0 scoreline.
Gonzalo Higuain scored a hat-trick in the second half to take the match ball home, as the Old Lady cruised to a 7-0 victory.
Fiorentina have collected just five points from their last five league games (W1 D2). Juventus, however, are unbeaten in their last 15 games across all competitions. The Old Lady have scored eleven goals and conceded none in their last four league games.
Juventus won the reverse fixture of this league tie with a tight 1-0 margin. Both the teams failed to find the back of the net in the first half. Mario Mandzukic broke the deadlock early in the second period. Cuadrado’s cross was met with Mandzukic’s diving header, and the home side went 1-0 up.
Milan Badelj picked up a second yellow card in the 66th minute, as Fiorentina’s chances of finding an equalizer looked even thinner. Massimiliano Allegri’s side went on to win the match with the only goal from Mandzukic.
Fiorentina have won just one of their last seven meetings with Juventus (D1 L5), a 2-1 win back in January 2017.
Viola manager Stefano Pioli will be without Simone Lo Faso, who is out with Flu. Vincent Laurini is out with a foot injury and won’t be up for selection.
Six players are unavailable for the Bianconeri. Paulo Dybala is unavailable due to a hamstring injury, and Andrea Barzagli is out for a few days due to a calf injury.
Howedes (Thigh), Matuidi (Thigh), Costa (Calf) and Cuadrado (Hip) are out with respective injuries and will be unavailable for this match.
Gianluigi Buffon is back in the squad, and the club legend played a great game against Sassuolo last week.

Fiorentina vs Juventus Prediction
Napoli are playing Lazio for the round 24 of Serie A this week, and this looks a great opportunity for Juventus to climb to the top spot given the Partenopei can lose some points in that encounter.
The Bianconeri have won the league for last six consecutive years and will be hoping to do the same this year. So they will be fully motivated to take maximum points against the Viola side.
It has not been all rainbows and butterflies for the hosts though, as they look to win at least a point from this difficult fixture. On paper, Juventus are the clear favorites.
Our Prediction: 3-1 to Juventus
