Dynamo Kiev vs Lazio: Preview, Prediction, Team News, & Lineups

Dynamo Kiev vs Lazio is yet another cracking game in the Round of 16 of the Europa League, with both teams having all to fight for on Thursday at 6 pm GMT, as Dyano Kiev host Lazio.

The first leg ended in a scoreline of 2-2 draw in the home turf of Lazio and with two vital away goals, Dynamo seems to have the upper hand in the tie, but still evenly poised. Dynamo Kiev saw their player Denys Garmash dismissed with a red in the final minutes of the game. He will be unable to play this second leg.

The Eagles also played a 2-2 draw against Cagliari in the Serie A, and with the Coppa Italia exit two weeks ago, Europa League is their only hope to win a silverware this season. They are currently in the fourth spot in the league and still fighting for the Champions League spot next season, and the Europa win would help them in automatic qualification.

Dynamo Kiev, on the other hand, are standing firm in the second place with 48 points and a 1-0 victory cements their place in that position although, the league win seems far from possible at the moment. They will be aiming for a crucial win against the Eagles this Thursday who managed a 2-2 draw in their home turf. With home advantage, they will be confident in giving a tough fight to the Italian side.

The first leg didn’t disappoint in the number of goals and certainly, the second leg will be equally enthralling with both teams going for the win.Dynamo Vs Lazio Prediction

They have met a total of 3 times, including the first leg with the Italian side, Lazio having the upper hand, winning both the legs of the Champions League back in 1999.

Dynamo Kiev have managed the back of the net thrice against the Eagles while the Lazio side has managed to put 5 past the net.

Team News

Martin Caceres is the only injury concern for the away side on their trip to Ukraine. Felipe Anderson is expected to operate behind the Italian striker Ciro Immobile.

Simon Inzaghi tends to rotate his 3-men defense and has a lot of options for the 2nd leg.

Dynamo Kiev

Denys Garmash was red carded at the end of Dynamo Kyiv’s 2-2 draw away to Lazio in the first leg, meaning he will miss this game.

Junior Moraes could be the one to start on Thursday after scoring from the bench in the first tie although Dieudonne Mbokani Bezua is back in contention after scoring in 1-0 win over Veres Rivne after coming from the bench.

Players to Watch

Ciro Immobile

Ciro Immobile has been in an exceptional form this season. He is the leading goal scorer in the Serie A. With a total of 34 goals and 8 assists this current season in all competitions this season, he is undoubtedly the best player for the Eagles.

In Europa league alone, Immobile has 6 goals already from 6 appearances with 4 of them scored being a substitute. His athleticism and unique goal-scoring skills have helped him reach this level. He will be the one to watch for the Dynamo defenders, and they will need to stop him if they are to qualify.

The Italian forward doesn’t only score goals but also gives loads of assists. Although he has not his name yet in the assist chart of the Europa League, he could be dangerous in that department of his game so the Dynamo side will certainly have to watch out for him.

Junior Moraes

Junior Moraes has been perfect for the Ukranian side in the Europa League although getting fewer minutes in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Moraes has 7 goals from the 6 starts to his name, one coming against Lazio. He will hope to emulate that performance and may cause huge problems for the Eagles. He can disrupt the defensive line and will be a major source of a headache for the Lazio side in the second leg.
